The Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (VLA) Committee connects legal professionals with local artists and arts organizations, supporting the creative community through access to legal services and education. Through its work, the Committee helps ensure that artists and arts groups have the guidance and resources they need to grow and sustain their work.
Committee members contribute in a variety of ways, including reviewing applications from income-eligible artists and organizations seeking pro bono legal assistance, organizing and presenting educational programs on arts-related legal topics, and supporting outreach efforts that strengthen connections between the legal and arts communities.
In addition to direct service, the Committee promotes engagement with the arts through CLE programs, events, and social opportunities, creating space for legal professionals to connect with and support the region’s creative sector.
