The Social Security & Disability Section brings together attorneys who focus on Social Security and disability law, providing a forum to stay informed on developments in this specialized and highly procedural area of practice. Since its launch in 2017, the Section has supported practitioners in navigating evolving regulations, administrative processes, and advocacy strategies.
Through bi-monthly CLE lunch meetings and additional programming, the Section offers practical education on issues affecting Social Security disability claims and related matters. These programs are designed to address both substantive legal developments and the day-to-day realities of representing clients in administrative proceedings.
A key focus of the Section is strengthening relationships with local hearing office administrators and administrative law judges, fostering collaboration and improving communication within the system. In addition to its educational offerings, the Section provides opportunities for networking and business development, while also supporting broader CMBA programming and collaboration with other Sections and Committees.
Through these efforts, the Section helps members stay current, connected, and effective in representing clients within the Social Security and disability system.
