The Litigation Section brings together a large and active community of attorneys engaged in civil and commercial litigation, providing opportunities to build connections, strengthen advocacy skills, and stay current on developments shaping litigation practice. With more than 350 members, the Section fosters a collegial environment that supports both professional growth and engagement across experience levels.
Through CLE programming and periodic meetings, the Section offers practical education focused on litigation strategy, emerging legal issues, and courtroom practice. Its annual Litigation Institute, along with one-hour CLE programs throughout the year, provides targeted insight into trends and techniques relevant to litigators.
In addition to its educational offerings, the Section contributes to the CMBA Bar Journal and supports initiatives that extend beyond day-to-day practice. These include scholarships for second-year law students at Case Western Reserve University School of Law and Cleveland State University College of Law, as well as participation in the CMBA’s Mock Trial program through volunteer judges and advisors.
Through its programming, mentorship, and community engagement, the Section plays a key role in supporting litigators while strengthening the broader legal community.
