The Judicial Ratings Committee works in cooperation with Judge4Yourself.com to evaluate judges and judicial candidates seeking office in Cuyahoga County. Through a structured and confidential interview process, the Committee provides objective assessments intended to help the public make informed decisions in judicial elections.
Supported by the CMBA’s Partners for Community Engagement, the Committee brings together attorneys and community members to contribute diverse perspectives to the evaluation process. Lawyer members are experienced trial practitioners representing a range of practice areas, while non-lawyer members are actively engaged in the community.
Members are appointed by the CMBA Board of Directors and must adhere to strict standards of neutrality, including refraining from publicly endorsing or financially supporting judicial candidates. Through its work, the Committee plays an important role in promoting transparency, accountability, and public confidence in the judicial system.
