The Health Care Law Section brings together attorneys and professionals working across the health law field, including private practitioners, in-house counsel for health systems, and government attorneys. The Section provides a forum for members to connect with peers and stay informed on the legal, regulatory, and policy issues shaping the health care industry at both the local and national levels.
Through a range of CLE programming and events, the Section supports ongoing education on developments impacting health care providers, organizations, and stakeholders. Signature initiatives include co-sponsorship of the annual Medical/Legal Summit in partnership with the Academy of Medicine of Cleveland and Northern Ohio, as well as the Health Care Law Institute, which offers a full day of focused programming leading into the Summit.
In addition to its educational offerings, the Section contributes to the CMBA Bar Journal and supports the next generation of health law practitioners through its scholarship fund, which provides financial assistance to law students pursuing careers in this field. Through these efforts, the Section fosters professional development while strengthening connections within the health care and legal communities.
