The Family Law Section brings together attorneys who practice in domestic relations and family law, providing resources, education, and opportunities to stay connected within this highly active and practice-driven area. The Section maintains a strong relationship with the Domestic Relations Court, helping members stay informed on court procedures, rules, and developments that directly impact their work.
Through regular CLE programming and monthly meetings, the Section supports ongoing education on relevant legal issues and practical considerations in family law. Programs often include collaboration with the court and other family law organizations, ensuring that content reflects current practices and real-world challenges faced by practitioners.
In addition to its educational offerings, the Section supports hands-on engagement through resources and access within the Domestic Relations Court, including a dedicated workspace for members. The Section also contributes to the CMBA Bar Journal and participates in pro bono initiatives, including Pro Se Divorce Clinics and related programs in partnership with The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland.
Through its connection to the court, practical resources, and active programming, the Section provides meaningful support for attorneys navigating the complexities of family law practice.
