The Certified Grievance Committee is responsible for investigating allegations of ethical misconduct by attorneys and, when appropriate, filing formal complaints with the Supreme Court of Ohio’s Board of Professional Conduct. All matters handled by the committee are treated with a high level of confidentiality and care.
Committee members review and evaluate information related to professional conduct, applying judgment and discretion to determine whether further action is warranted. Through this work, the committee helps uphold ethical standards within the legal profession and protects the public by ensuring accountability.
The committee meets twice monthly, and membership involves an application and interview process, approval by leadership, and participation in required training. Service on the committee requires a commitment to professionalism, objectivity, and confidentiality.
