Join the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and its Real Estate Law Section for a special informational program hosted at the Cleveland Mounted Police Unit exploring the rich history and enduring legacy of one of the city’s most recognizable law enforcement divisions.
This program will examine the origins and evolution of mounted policing in Cleveland, tracing how the Unit has adapted alongside the changing needs of the city, advances in policing practices, and the development of modern public safety strategies. Attendees will learn about the historical role mounted officers have played in downtown patrol, crowd control, public events, neighborhood engagement, and major civic moments throughout Cleveland’s history.
The discussion will also highlight how mounted policing has remained relevant in contemporary law enforcement through visibility, mobility, and community interaction, while offering insight into the operational structure, training, and preservation of the Unit today.
