About the NPLRC:
The Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s Non-Profit Legal Resource Center (NPLRC) is here to help nonprofit organizations stay legally strong and ready to serve. Our mission is simple: to help you focus on your mission by giving your organization the legal knowledge and support it needs to thrive.
Funded by the Greater Cleveland Funders Collaborative, the NPLRC is a regional hub connecting nonprofits with trusted legal education, guidance, and resources.
What We Offer
Education
We deliver practical, easy-to-understand legal education for nonprofit leaders and boards – through workshops, resource fairs, video content, and community events. At your request, our staff will meet with you to navigate governance, compliance, and emerging legal issues that impact your mission.
Advice
Need quick guidance? We offer brief consultations and answers to common legal questions facing nonprofits – from formation and bylaws to employment and fundraising compliance.
Connections
For more complex needs, we connect nonprofits to a curated network of attorneys and organizations committed to non-profit representation – including law firms, law school clinics, and the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland.
Resilience
We help organizations plan ahead. The NPLRC provides resources to help nonprofits adapt to changing laws and regulations with confidence.
